(Inspired by a Icehockey Drill)
Amount of players: Minimum 8 players + 2 keepers
Drill duration: 10-15 minutes
Age Group: U11+
Drill Description:
- If possible, move the two goals out to the line.
- Players are together 2&2, and starts on the same line as the goal.
- They have to get past the mid-line before they can score.
- Then they have to try and score against the keeper on the opposite goal!
Situation A:
- One player passes to his teammate (forward pass) who receives and for example dribbles over the mid-line.
- His teammate who made the pass, will try with and "inside-run" and participate in the attack/finishing.
- After finish on goal, they move to the other line.
Situation B:
- Now the two players together stands on the other side of the mid-line, and now receives a pass from a third player.
- Here for example, one moves towards the ball to wall-pass to his teammate.
- Then his teammate dribbles over the mid-line, while the player who made the wall pass makes an overlap to participate in the finishing.
Coaching Points: - Can you time the runs towards the ball, inside run & overlap.
- Can you work with 1 touches (or 2 touches).
Progression:
- Have to make their first pass with their "weaker foot".
- Their first touch have to be a "offensive move".
- Try to combine passes together for a finish on goal.
- Try to make a feint when you have to dribble.
